John Tropeano is a Consultant with Grahall, LLC.

He is a strategist with 40+ years Compensation and Benefits experience who has demonstrated broad capabilities for developing, implementing and continuously improving the effectiveness and efficiency of performance-enhancing initiatives including design, communication, integration and measurement of all elements of a total rewards portfolio for senior executives, independent directors and broad-based employee groups. A creator and change agent, he leverages keen vision, deep analytical skills, a total quality management discipline and broad perspectives developed across U.S. and international corporations while based in the USA and as an expatriate in Europe to create compelling cases for change.

With a special focus on Total Rewards Strategy and Processes he employs a proprietary strategic process covering the steps from philosophy development through program design, integration, communication, delivery and measurement of effectiveness. By employing a value chain perspective, he ensures the inputs of all key stakeholders are reflected in the resulting value proposition including base salary, short and long-term (cash and equity-based) incentives, recognition, capital accumulation, health and welfare and work/ life effectiveness programs.

Prior to joining the firm, he was the Vice President of Total Rewards for Bunge Limited, a $50 Billion agribusiness and food company, from 2005 - 2020 where his primary responsibilities included Total Rewards Strategy, advice and counsel to senior management and as management’s representative to the Board Compensation Committee and Shareholders.

He has also served as Vice President of Total Rewards for Unilever United States, Director of Compensation and Benefits for Bestfoods Europe, Mideast and Africa and in a number of management positions for Kraft and General Foods in Compensation, Human Resources Information Systems, HR Analytics and Total Quality Management.

He received a Master of Business Administration degree in Management Science from Iona College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
